Thanks for taking the time to check out the newly revamped/revised American Dischord homepage. I've put a lot of time into investing a redesign for this baby of mine. Sorry for any typos that may occur as well, had to do a somewhat rush job to meet my own imposed deadline.

A BRIEF HISTORY 

The works created for American Dischord employ the latest in traditional and digital art technology to create stunning graphic novels and commercial images. We label our work Novella Graphique, one of the last truly original American art styles with Realist overtones. The phrase 'comic book' has brought with it so many negative underlying meanings, it's become time to separate ourselves from the common minded individual. These aren't funny books, but may contain funny situations. These aren't cute or cuddly, although you may find a teddy bear or two spatting out classic punchlines behind the barrel of a .22. These are most likely the most imaginitive classes of books you will ever witness, or at least we aim so. Also, the tales contained within are meant to be fun, entertaining, and unique in its own. We've found that graphic novel artwork is rooted in everyday life, but has illusions of fantasy or wonder. We feel that American Dischord represents the future of modern storytelling. There are dozens of twists and turns in the American Dischord Universe that will keep the eye and mind keen.

We can generally be found working traditionally in mixed mediums, mostly consisting of Bristol boards and pencils and/or inks, then converting to digital files; which are finalized using various techniques and programs. Through our methods we believe that American Dischord has a shot at the mainstream success of the bigger publishing houses. There are currently a dozen projects in the works along with a few mini-series events. Literally hundreds of pages are press ready, leaning towards the thousand mark, and going strong. We aim to change the everyday readers perception of the graphic novel/comic book maket and how it should exceed our predecessors in every category imaginable. We have pushed the envelope for production value and will never apologize for that. Our long term goals are to show what a novella can contain and show the ones we've looked up to for so long to do as well.

Mostly of what readers will witness for the next few years abroad from American Dischord Publishing are the deliberate stellar creations of Shelby W. Robertson, founder and creator of the American Dischord Label. There are also other creators with the like-minded goals at hand under the American Dischord banner; all of whom are to be viewed individually and with the precious care they've shown in their own productions.
